Hello. I am having a debate with the topic being:
Rap Music is good for America’s youth.
Without imparting, my own opinions, I have been having trouble finding facts to support this. Can anyone help? Does anyone have factual data to support the above statement?

to be honest it mainly has bad effects.
when you think about it, today’s youth of america are getting fed some of the mainstream manuer that is all over MTV and what not.
if they got into some real $hit it would be a different story
no offense but clearly your daughter has some mental issues that need to be adressed. RAP AND HIP HOP ARE MUSIC GENRES. THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY SORT OF POWER TO MAKE PEOPLE DO THINGS THAT THEY DON’T WANT TO DO. OR DO THINGS AND NOT KNOW WHY.
Many (good) artists include or even base their songs on a social, political, economical, racial, etc. message, and it conveys that message through lyrical skill that many enjoy listening too. Consult artists like Nas, Ice Cube and other artists.
An example is on Nas’ Untitled album, the song Sly Fox tells of the influence of the media and how it misleads people.
creativity
not all of it has to be about sex and drugs and crap
look at chamillionaire. he doesnt say a single cuss word on any song. he is sending a positive message.
my teacher in 8th grade who didnt listen to rap at all. and then i played morning and evening news for an assignment. and she liked it so much that she kept the lyrics to use with other classes. so you can use something with him.
there are some that send a positive message and you just have to target those. try to get some from tupac. he had a lot.
but honestly there isnt much.
its just the taste people have. do they like real sh!t like tupac, game, eminem or that garbage made by soulja boy and all these new "rappers" as they call themselves.
Bad effects. My little sister, when she was younger(about in the 6th grade),she never listened to rap,but then when she got in middle school, peer pressure kicked in and she listened to it for a while, and during that time,we all noticed changes in her.She was a quiet, funny girl, but then she started having hostility towards everyone, and behaviour problems. She has stopped listening to it now,she mainly listens to old school rap, japanese pop, chinese pop,and instrumentals. It does nothing but corrupt the mind and the heart.
todays rap is better because it doesnt talk about killing, but rap with a message is also acceptable,i’d rather dance to soulja boy than listen to beef or political rap and murdering and thugs
as long as people see it for what it is
Entertainment.
not real life, just art.
