Idk I’ve heard some stories about young teens/adults in large groups busting off guns in the sky & cops come check it out and do nothing & leave…if this happened where I live they would have been shot or arrested…and I live in a pretty bad area but on the east coast….i just don’t this type of thing happening but i guess the south is different

I currently go to a school in downtown Atlanta and I have NEVER felt unsafe (and I’m a girl!). Ever since the economic downturn, there are defiantly more homeless people on the streets…but they are harmless and cause no threat. I have never heard gunshots at night and have never heard of one of my friends getting mugged, beaten, or any other thing of the sort.
As long as you are smart (don’t walk alone at night, etc etc) about it, Atlanta is a wonderful place to be. But, those stories you are hearing could have easily happened. I feel, that in any big city there is going to be violence and crime. But, don’t write off Atlanta just yet! If you are ever down here, I think you will realize how wonderful it truly is.
It’s a lot worse in the east coast. NYC, NJ, DC, Philly, and Baltimore. Who ever gave you that info about Atlanta was probably trying to make Atlanta sound rougher than it really is. If you can’t afford to live anywhere outside of the ghetto then you will hear gun shots.
