Most successful rappers now only rap about things you don’t do or things you don’t have. To add insult to injury the tell you how much you suck for not being on their level. How can you continue to support such treason?

what happened was they want to market rap and hip hop to young teens everywhere, thereby becoming mainstream. This way, it would appeal to more people to make more money. But I agree, Hip Hop and Rap is dying. (i.e. Soulja Boy) But there are still people out there with creativity in their lyrics.
try K-Os and Knaan, who rap about the current state of hip hop and their songs are meaningful.

i,ll tell you what happen to creativity in hip hop the business side took full control of it hip hop is 90% business and 10% talent that’s just the way it is record labels aren’t looking for the next jayz or nas their looking for a one hit wonder or the next dance sensation you know some one like soulja boy the music industry change a lot since the 90s era that’s when real hip hop flourished the lyrics were ill and the beats were soulful but that’s what happen when hip hop got Commercialized

people arnt continueing to support such treason. havent you heard record sales have been down. people arnt buying as many albums because the music just isnt good. unfortunately theyve been buying ringtones instead and supporting worse music, but there is good news because there are LOTS of lyricists out there if you know where to look, and hip hop still has a lot of great young potential.
